Will Moore is currently training for ordained ministry in the Church of England at Westcott House, Cambridge. He is also studying for a PhD in Theology with the Cambridge Theological Federation and Anglia Ruskin University, researching constructive trauma theologies and masculinities, supervised by Dr Karen O’Donnell (CTF) and Professor David Tombs (University of Otago, NZ). In November 2022, Will was appointed as a Research Associate for the Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence, Bristol.
His work focuses broadly in the areas of gender, masculinity, sexuality, trauma, and violence, and their intersections with theology, Christianity, and the Bible. He holds a BA (First Class Honours) and an MTh (Distinction) in theology and biblical studies from Cardiff University, and a PGCert (Distinction) in Theology, Ministry, and Mission with the Cambridge Theological Federation, accredited by Durham University.
With growing academic experience, Will has been published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. His first book Boys Will Be Boys, and Other Myths: Unravelling Biblical Masculinities was written to introduce studies of the Bible and masculinities to a popular Christian audience. It was published by SCM Press in 2022.
Will has also made various media appearances on television and podcasts, as well as speaking engagements, discussing his research on and own experiences of masculinity, bisexuality, and Christianity. He has been a visiting lecturer at Sarum College.
When he isn’t writing, speaking, or preaching, you might find Will playing piano, enjoying a good musical or movie, cuddling dogs, or out on a run!
