Will Moore is currently an ordinand at Westcott House in Cambridge, a PhD student in Theology at Anglia Ruskin University with the Cambridge Theological Federation, and a Research Associate for the Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence, Bristol. He is the author of Boys Will Be Boys, and Other Myths: Unravelling Biblical Masculinities (SCM Press, 2022).


Will Moore (he/him) is currently training for ordained ministry in the Church of England at Westcott House, Cambridge. He is also studying for a PhD in Theology with the Cambridge Theological Federation and Anglia Ruskin University, researching constructive trauma theologies and masculinities, supervised by Dr Karen O’Donnell (CTF) and Professor David Tombs (University of Otago, NZ). In November 2022, Will was appointed as a Research Associate for the Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence, Bristol.

His work focuses broadly in the areas of gender, masculinity, sexuality, trauma, and violence, and their intersections with theology, Christianity, and the Bible. He holds a BA (First Class Honours) and an MTh (Distinction) in theology and biblical studies from Cardiff University, and a PGCert (Distinction) in Theology, Ministry, and Mission with the Cambridge Theological Federation, accredited by Durham University.

With growing academic experience, Will has contributed to numerous publications including peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. His first book Boys Will Be Boys, and Other Myths: Unravelling Biblical Masculinities was published by SCM Press in 2022, written to introduce studies of the Bible and masculinities to a popular Christian audience.

Will is keen to share his research on, and own experiences of, masculinity, bisexuality, and theology. He has made various media appearances, including for television, radio, and podcasts. Will has also made a diverse range of speaking engagements, especially as a guest lecturer for institutions such as Sarum College (Salisbury) and The Queen’s Foundation (Birmingham).

When he isn’t writing, speaking, or preaching, you might find Will playing piano, enjoying a good musical or movie, cuddling dogs, or out on a run!
